September 2023
Awareness Campaign
In September 2023, we launched our first awareness campaign—a green shirt fundraiser focused on advocacy and educating family and friends about LGMD2i. Coming together in support of our children, we took the first steps toward raising awareness.
November 2023
Fundraising Event
In November 2023, we hosted our first fundraising event, Stand Up to MD—a wine tasting and silent auction that brought together family, friends, and supporters. The evening was a wonderful success, raising funds while fostering a strong sense of community and hope.
September 2024
Fundraising Event
In September 2024, we hosted our second fundraising event, featuring a silent auction, advocacy efforts, and sharing important updates with all who attended. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible families and friends, the evening was once again a wonderful success.

Official Non-Profit
We’re proud to share that Cure LGMD2i Canada is now a federally incorporated non-profit! This step brings us closer to our mission of raising awareness, funding research, and supporting families affected by LGMD2i.

Social Media Awareness Campaign
In August 2025, we launched our Instagram account @curelgmd2icanada to spread awareness and help bring people living with LGMD together. These posts increase public knowledge of rare disease, reduces stigma, and supports families by building understanding.

LGMD2i Connect
LGMD2i Connect is an online program that hosts Zoom calls for individuals, families, and friends. It’s a space to find support, encouragement, and connection. No matter where you are in the world. Together, we’re building hope and community.
